What I want to know is why the reaction to satire is different from the reaction to reality. I am assuming that it is different.

The reason why it is so funny is that it isn't satire - it's real life!
Love,
Anthony

PS Was that the footlights revue? If so I went to see it. Actually I'm sure I did see it. Late 1950s?

I imagine that was irony.

Nonetheless this video takes a swipe at religion. So does your reply. I say this unemotionally and find it interesting.

In posting the video, did you not, Timmy, also take a sideswipe at religion?

Who are the most prominent and determined opponents of equal rights? The Roman Catholic church - that's who.

Bit it takes all sorts. When the Jesuits say "Give us a boy till he is seven and we have him for life" (or something like that) they show what is obvious in everyday life - namely that people can hold views that are incompatible with each other and their own interests.

So, when I encounter a man who is deeply religious I am sorry for him but I don't thrust my atheist views down his throat.

But you are probably less sympathetic with my difficulty in understanding how a gay man can support the Conservatives (or the Republicans in the USA).
Love,
Anthony

No. I posted a video which satirises religion. I stated the reason for posting it when I posted it. So far I am interested in the responses.
