... on several fronts.

I'm having to re-think my posture on "accountability" and "redress", and in particular, just how far back in time we should be allowed to revisit circumstances surrounding travesties of this nature.

Currently, I'm having a problem with the reaching back of 30, or 40 or more years, and society then exacting what could be viewed as being "revenge". In a goodly number, and by no means am I referring to all instances, I have to question "What took the alleged victim so long to come forward?", and secondly "Why now?"

I'll likely have more to say about this as I come to one conclusion, or another, about this; and please, don't misjudge my thoughts here. I have long stated my posture on abuse in general, and that involving youngsters in particular. That is immutable, and not ever going to change. It's the time frame, and the timing, and the motivation that troubles me.
