I have posted here a little video clip, a mother and her two homeschooled children.

I know we have discussed Evangelical Christians before, but it is difficult to pass by an opportunity to actually see what is being taught to kids under that faith.

Several things to note. The mother's comments about Galileo are wrong, but she is reading from the child's textbook. The other slightly strange object on view is the copy of Lord of the Rings sitting on the kitchen table, I would have thought that was off limits to this religious group.

Now I have questions. After listening to the discussion between mother and child, could you in all good conscience give this child a high school diploma based upon the knowledge he is being given?

Of course if the boy goes off to a religious college then the same nonsense will continue. Would you as an employer hire a college graduate from a school that teaches such utter nonsense? Maybe that's why the right wing Christians are so angry, they can't get decent jobs.

I cannot imagine any religious school confering a degree in science, do all the graduates end up as preachers like Freddy Phelps? Home school programs must be accredited by the state to meet federal standards, I wonder who is approving these erroneous educational tools?
