And so Christian, too. Taliban Christian.

now, for those of you who think this is not a war, I have two very simple words:

FUCK YOU

I hope you see that as non bigoted.

You may be interested in a commentary about the article.

Please, whatever comments you make here, those are comments for the choir to whom we preach so often. Out there is a wider catchment area, so please make comments there, too

I have been, in the past, lambasted. But I can tell you clearly that the attitudes displayed in the comment thread on that Yahell article are not attitudes I see in England, or in the rest of the UK, or in Europe.

Yes, there are a great many good men and women who are excellent, who are unbigoted. But they stay silent.

Where is the balance? Where ARE the decent US citizens? Why does no-one cry 'FOUL!'?

So I conclude that the attitudes displayed are those of the USA as a whole. SInce so few appear to oppose the fascists I conclude that the fascists are the majority.

If you disagree, don;t tell ME. TELL THE WORLD!

My "day job" is to deliver newspapers. My route is ridiculously huge for the number of actual papers that I deliver, but that isn't what I was about to talk about. I ran into this article while chasing around the backwoods, dodging deer and other small creatures that like to cause havok in the night. I had to find the digital version and post it here.

http://www.pnj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=201010260311

For the record, this was tombstoned on the bottom of the front page, and carried back to page 5 of the main section, BUT it was a top story (under the extreme makeover: home edition coverage, an article about BP and the continuing crap with the oil spill and a city government investigation).

This is happening. This is the high school I graduated from. It's literally across the street from my apartment (I can watch the sports teams practice and hear the marching band practice). Don't know how much closer to home this can hit for me, other than having a someone in my circle directly on the receiving end of bullying.

It might only be a slight turn in the battle Tim, but it's a turn our way, even if only slightly. I share your outrage. Perhaps this is one step on the path back to something like sanity.

Just the same, keep that beautiful six color banner of outrage flying high and proud.

Also found this one in the same paper, but it was in the USA Today section, which usually I ignore. But, when you shine a light on something, you often don't find exactly what you thought you'd find.

Scroll down to find the story past the adds and stuff.

It does get better, but sometimes it gets worse first;

Thanks to anyone who replied and signed the petition, the storm of this has sent over 30,000 responses to this asshole. The State board of Education and the local board have all distanced them from him. By your response to his remarks, he will soon be gone. Stopping a homophobe in his tracks is a good thing people.

Again thanks to everyone, the SOB has resigned from the furor of his comments.

With luck he has learnt something. I fear, though, that he has simply reinforced his prejudices, because a bunch of screaming fags was out to get him.

But, if that is all he has learnt, then he has at least learnt something.

I do pity his children.
