I've had contact with him; gotten him to visit the board to retrieve my *post*, and have opened a dialogue with him.
This dialogue, at his instigiation was joined by none other than pacman2, kevin, and smith.
He has given me his undertaking (in a form I know he will abide by) that nothing untoward is going to happen to him, and that he will rethink his leaving.

I just posted in your other thread some info about a suicide hotline to suggest he call. It is good that you engaged him in some conversation and got an assurance that he won't harm himself. These are two things that should be done. I sincerely hope that he will read all our posts. I'm not on any of the IMs so I can't reach him that way.
Thanks Warren, you may have helped to save his life tonight. And thanks to you too Pacman2, Kevin, and smith. I only hope Tim realizes what great friends he has in all of you.
