I couldn't help but shake my head in amazement reading the featured lead story at netscape.aol.com from late last evening.

Haiti a Year Later: Lots of 'Solutions, Little Shelter':

http://www.aolnews.com/2011/01/11/haiti-a-year-later-lots-of-solutions-little-shelter/

Moreover, the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, aka Radio Canada) has been running 'promos' for a two-hour featurette about this same story. The programme will air nationally early next week.

What in hell is taking them so long? Why was it possible to re-build Louisiana in two years; but apparently yield little by way of traction in Haiti in one?

A second take on the situation, also from the front-page at netscape.aol.com this morning:

Sean Penn on 1st Anniversary of Quake: 'Haiti Cannot Wait Any Longer':

Because no-one actually cares about a load of poor black folk in a place that no-one knows how to get to. There's no profit in it.
