When a baby is premature it has its birthday registered. But a baby 2 months premature is actually no oldeer than a baby born at full term two months later.

The date of birth is thus spurious. Surely we should set the real date of birth as the due date for all premature babies?

This would then save (or wpould it cost) governmentts money on welfare benefits, education etc etc etc.

I believe we should start a worldwde campaign for "true date of birth" for all premature babies to allow this hugely disadvantaged segment of society all the rights of other segments

Not the due date of the package......

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

my friend that i just came out to is the father of a premature baby. if i remember right, 3 or 4 weeks early. The baby is doing great, home and all, now 9 weeks old. I think he'll be turning over on his own soon.
I look at it this way, he may be early, but he has a head start on getting to know this world.
the birth date, well, he gets to be older sooner, enter school sooner, etc.
due date and birth date really don't matter, you could be born right on your due date, and still be premature compared to other babies.

just a thought.
