Of gay teens who despite everything are on the front lines fighting for their rights...and for the rights of those who cannot stand up themselves for whatever reason. (And I probably shouldn't say it, but this particular warrior is pretty darn cute, too.)

Good article I found today:

Gay bashing continues unabated in Detroit schools
By Brent Dorian Carpenter
http://www.pridesource.com/cgi-bin/article?article=3842508&frames=no

For over two years, Michael Thomas, a bright 16-year-old with good
grades at Northwestern High School, has endured being pushed,
taunted, called some pretty nasty names, and even assaulted by
bullying classmates. He has twice attempted to prompt the school to
address the harassment, to no avail.

Now, he and his father, James Thomas, have had enough and stand ready
to push back against the assailants; Northwestern's principal, Dr.
Larry Latimore; and the Detroit Public School Board itself, if need
be.

Though the fight only has to go to the front line when it HAS to. Simply moving attitudes gently, where posisble, has more power than a million direct assaults.

I am also proud, I live only a few miles from the boy in this story. It is hard in this area for people of all ages. Predjudice is rampant here.

Laws protect the abuser when it comes to gay based predjudice. It's sad really.

But ANYONE brave enough to fight against these things is a hero in my book.

Thanks for all who fight the good fight every day.

Kevin
