Gays are treated passively here; no one would go as far as harm them unless they start the fight themselves. If a hetero guy is approached by a gay guy he will either accept or refuse politely. I’ve never heard of a case where gays were assaulted. I’m sure it has happened but it’s very rare.
Marc yours is a wonderful idea but I don’t know which should I do first? Offer the ride or take him out? Although the ride idea is very good too, it has a little problem; I’m afraid that he will refuse because he doesn’t know me, and he might take me for some kind of a serial killer or something so I guess I will wait a bit before I offer him the ride.
I found out that they close at around 12:00am, usually half an hour after that time but I don’t know when does he start working. I think I will ask this first because the poor thing may be tired if he starts in the morning or the afternoon.
Let me tell you what happened yesterday!
Oh! Before that you need to know that when I went there the day before yesterday he was not there. When I asked about him they told me that he took the rest of the day off. I almost cried. The first thing I told him yesterday was about that... I said, "where were you yesterday? I asked about you and they told me you took the rest of the day off. I hope everything is ok?" to which he smiled (I feel the sun shining in my heart when he smiles) and said, "yes, it was nothing! Just a small rest".
So... after we ordered and were waiting he did his usual fretting, for example the ashtray had only one cigarette butt in it but he came and replaced it with a clean one. I pointed this out to him and he answered in a very strange way I took for shyness, he said, "yes I’m just replacing it" or something to that effect and he was off. ?!?!?!?. Anyway... after another round of staring I finally managed to finish eating and he came and asked if we would like some tea. My friend said he doesn’t and I said I wanted coffee "but I want you to make it" I said. He smiled and said he would and asked how sweet I wanted it. I said very sweet. When he came back he set the cup down and said, "this is from my hand and it’s on the house".
Some of my friends are saying that waiters usually do that sort of thing (sucking up to a customer) and it could mean nothing. I’m so confused.
I’m sorry if I ranted so much but I respect and want your opinions greatly. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
