Hello! it was a bit sad to see how inactive it is here but i was curious if yall would have suggestions. [Wanted to ask a subreddit or GayAuthors but getting able to actually ~post~ was a pain in the neck lol.]
exploring my orientation a few years ago, i found a couple sites like this one and read a couple stories. i think it stirred something in me, cause what i saw was just so direct and passionate w/ the portrayal of teen boys/young men developing this instinctual emotional attachment to eachother. it just got me thinking harder about it than before.

So basically I'm looking for anything, ~including~ from other sources, focused on instinctual/strong or even intense bonds of this sort. Ambiguous tensions, catharsis, intimacy, going through stuff together [for instance when loved ones argue], history/memories together, self-discovery, all that stuff.

(on the note of 'self discovery' there's sort of a nostalgic/baggage element here. i.e one scene had two boys playing a computer game while staying the night, it reminded me of my past whilst i realized my wish to be 'in that picture'.. i didnt just take awhile to realize i'm gay, but realized then that i had few male friends as a 'youngin'. i wonder if others have had it similar? Razz)

i'm farrr from anti-sexual, but repetitive sex scenes dominating the story can get a bit boring for me xD

I'll be interested in your suggestions if any, have a nice day

I migrated it here; it felt more appropriate. I can always move it back on request

Harking back to your origonal question, the authrs collected here all write about teenage gay romance and burgeoning relationships. SOme progress in tghe story arc to adulthood. a few to old age.

You can argue that the scenarios are viewed though rose tinted glasses, and I will not disagree. Many, most, show an ideal outcome. Some do not.

This may not be appropriate, but as it directly applies to the original post, I'll add this in the spirit of being helpful.  What you, BlackSwan, asked for was exactly what this is.  I'd suggest this story would be exactly what youl're looking for:[/font-size]

I also agree with Timmy.  IOMFAS is filled with teenaged coming-of-age stories, well-written and addictive.

Cole.

Hi, BlackSwan!

Hopefully we can make a few good recommendations for you (threads here can be a bit weird sometimes, as activity can come and go in spurts or not at all, depending on a few things, I'm sure).  Personally, I am tempted to recommend one of my stories here, "An Apprentice's Adventures".  It's a story in the fantasy genre (so may or may not appeal to you based on that, depending on how you feel about stories in the fantasy genre).  It doesn't have too much sex (or at least it doesn't in my viewpoint, though of couse, as TImmy pointed out, yes, I do plead guilty to being one who looks at my own works through rose-colored glasses), and takes a little bit of time to get to the point where the main character and his ultimate Significant Other first meet up.  But hopefully it is something you might find interesting.

Thanks for the input Cole, I honestly don't mind self-promo if you do believe it fits what I'm talking about, haha

My question does skew pretty wide doesn't it heh Razz Suppose that's my interests here. Some of my post does kinda double as expressing my feelings, but I wanted to at least try emphasizing what most interested too.

Thanks for the warm welcome sir Smile I will admit it depends with fantasy, like if I'm interested/immersed in it's world. but I can certainly look - specially if you're reminded by my post.

I do understand getting gushy and rosy about such things in general haha
with the sex scenes something I recall now is Mark And Me, I liked many things about it, the scenes were just so numerous that it got to feel repetitive after awhile, as if it was half the whole story Razz

It's difficut to make recommendations. I think any of the stories in most any of the writing challenges work.  Of my own I like The Tale of Croydon Below a lot and I feel pleased with "Hello Buoys!" yet I have no idea if either will be to your taste. My earlier work is half erotic half romangtic, my later work is, I think, more emotional than erotic.

It is very understandable that too many sex scenes can be a turn-off.  If one is not careful, sex can overtake a story to the point where the story basicaly becomes nothing more than "mindless porn" (to borrow a term a friend from many years ago used). and anything that resembles a plot just becomes little more than a vehicle to get the characters from one sexual escapade to the next.

As Timmy noted, it is kind of hard to make recommendations on stories, since there are so many good ones here that could meet your specifications.  Taking a look at the Authors here and seeing if any titles catch your eye can help.  Plus, reading some of their short stories can also help (it can sometimes show what the author's writing style is without the commitment of a longer multi-chapter story).

you pretty much reflected my own thoughts Mark.
indeed more of a 'vehicle' is just not what i'm looking for Razz

my prompt maybe came off even wider than i realized - did consider a couple other places after all - if that's the case i'm open to hear of favorites..
this is def one of the most specific places to ask/look. i've done some looking myself here and indeed there's times i've stuck, i've found a couple neat short's this week. and the commitment thing tends to help haha

This site has intentional rose tinted spectacles.  I set out to try to show gay yeenagers and the adukts they become that gay folk are entitled to love and romance, though not all wish for it; that we are entitled to date argue, fsll in love, fal lut of love, bit, generally, have romantic and happy endimgs.

I wamted to create a haven from life's tribulations where folk are able to escape into the wonderful pictures in a story. I don't refuse 'non happy endimg' tales, but they have to be damned good in order to make the cut. I like erotic tales, and I have written them. I like romantic tales, and I have written them.
