I'm very pleased to see that "Gran's House" by Kit has starting posting here on IOMFATS.

I had the pleasure of reading this story a few months ago, while Kit was still polishing it.  It's a very enjoyable tale about a young man, alone in the world, who suddenly discovers that he has a family.

Without giving too much away, the story focuses on the protagonist's growth as he evolves from a capable young man, largely uncertain about his future, to a young adult with adult responsibilities.

The story is well told.  The characters are realistic and engaging.  The drama isn't intense, but it's enough to keep readers turning pages (scrolling?).  It feels real because it is.  Ordinary people have similar experiences every day.  I think that's what helps make this story so engaging.

If you enjoy stories about ordinary people being heroic in ordinary ways, I'm sure you'll like "Gran's House".
