Brody's Notes... University Of North Carolina Wilmington Professor Mocks Gay Suicides In Editorial Column
By Mark Singer (Washington DC) OCT 15 | The ultra-conservative website Townhall.com, which bills itself as the number one leading conservative news source, published an Op-Ed yesterday by University of North Carolina-Wilmington professor of criminology Mike Adams entitled "Eight Straight Suicides."

Adams, a self-described conservative Christian wrote:
"Officials on college campuses across the nation are alarmed at a wave of recent suicides involving Christians who have been harassed by homosexual activists. The main stream media isn’t covering the story so, as usual, I have taken it upon myself to do their jobs for them. None of the following eight cases have been covered by any of the three major news networks."

Adams then went on to describe each case and then ended his editorial with this disclaimer:

"These eight cases are all true except for one thing: The Christians who were bullied by gays and gay activists are all still alive. Not a single one has committed suicide. That is because they have centered their lives around Jesus Christ, rather than their sexual identity. And no amount of bullying can change my mind about that."

Professor Adams has been a controversial figure in the academic community at UNCW having unsuccessfully sued the university in Federal Court claiming First Amendment violations based on his religious beliefs and freedom of speech which led to his not being accepted for a position as a tenured full professor. Adams lost the case in a summary judgement issued by U. S. District Court Judge Malcolm J. Howard, in Greensboro, North Carolina, earlier this year on March 15th.
