I've had enough of the shit going down in Russia. Simply put, it's sickening. And contrary to Russia's international treaty obligations. The thought that the Winter Olympics may be held in Russia is unconscionable. LGB athletes will be at risk of harm or imprisonment, as will LGBT spectators attending the event. This is entirely contrary to the Olympic spirit.
But more to the point is to hit them where it hurts - in the sponsorship wallet. So, for the last couple of evenings, I've been e-mailing major corporate sponsors, pointing out that nearly a third of a million people signed the petition to the IOC that was handed in yesterday, and that their corporate image may suffer badly if there are any incidents, or simply by association with this event.
