A graphic that combines COVID and religious nuts (amongst other things) is too good not to share....

Haha! I like that. The only thing that's changed from last year is the addition of the category at the top. All else remains the same. LOL

Isn't there something a little off with this message? Keeping a certain distance apart is when you don't wear a mask. The idea being that projected virus particles fall to earth before coming into contact with another person. Wearing a mask prevents these particles escaping into the air in the first place, so you could be standing next to someone.

Your logic is good, but this a psychological thing as much as a medical one, I think.

While we're combining COVID and religious nuts, now hear this:

This week Dr. Fauci said during an interview, "One of the problems we face in the United States is that unfortunately, there is a combination of an anti-science bias that people are for reasons that sometimes are, you know, inconceivable and not understandable they just don't believe science and they don't believe authority." He went on to say that "science is truth."

Shortly thereafter, Franklin Graham went after him with the outlandish assertion that "Science isn't truth. God is!" Graham makes the case for why so many Americans have an anti-science bias. And, of course, this from one of the main mouthpieces on those against LGBTQ rights!

Since SARSCOV2 virus is transmitted via respiratory droplets/aerosols the idea of wearing masks and keeping social distancing is to try to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19.  A recent study published has shown that both wearing masks and increasing the distance seem to be effective. So combining different measures to minimize exposure to people infected with the virus (who sometimes have very mild or no symptoms but can transmit the virus) is what's being currently recommended.

Here's the link to the study with anyone os interested.

Very Happy
That's really funny. I'd only add another category for "anti-science nuts"

When you watch the TV sometimes you see famine in Africa or other cataclysmic events in different countries and you watch and wonder about those countries. In some way you feel that you are lucky to live in a first world, fairly civilised, and modern country. Then you look at the United States of America, it's not a third world country, it's supposedly fairly civilised, and modern. But you look at half the people there, those religious evangelists, the gun carrying anti-government survivalists, and you look at the government. Then you say to yourself, in some way I feel lucky to live in a first world country, fairly civilised and modern... and not there in the USA. You wonder if half the people have any education or any brains and how the hell they all ended up crazy. You listen to these crazy people say in what seems all sincerity that it's God, protect yourself by shooting people, vote for a man with no brain that can represent the people with no brains. It's like zombie apocalypse and you just hope they all stay there and don't get let out!
