The Association of British Muslims (AOBM) is the oldest extant organisation of British Muslims. Founded originally in Liverpool in 1889 as The English Islamic Association. Their response to the UN’s Decision to Remove Sexual Orientation from the Resolution on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions makes interesting reading, and should help dispel the creeping Islamophobia that seems to be becoming prevalent in some quarters:
