While I sit and stare at Summer Days,
Through windows blotting out the Sun.
I think of all the things,
I said I would but Haven't done.
I thought I needed to share my time,
A second heart to make me shine.
Living a life I thought Sublime.
I've learnt a lot through time and trail.
Now tasked with separating fact from fiction,
I feel more and more lost in translation.
It's not the end of me I know that I've grown,
Genesis is what time has shown.
A single light in Darkness shines,
Brighter each time you blink your eyes.
Part of a whole is not what defines,
Even the mighty oak eventually dies.
In parting I say we're better apart,
Not parts of a whole but apart wholes ourselves.
My intention was never to break a fragile heart,
But knowledge imparted like books on the shelves.
