One day young man, i'm ganna take you fishing,
One day young man, we are ganna go camping.
Sorry Young man, I can't take you just now,
how about another time, yes..... We will another time son.
Yes I know what i said, and i'm truely sorry,
we will do it another time mate, don't worry.
Pack your things, we are ganna go tomorrow,
eek ghat sorry son, it won't be after all.

Yeah dad, that's ok, I understand,
yeah yeah mate, another time, that will be grand.
You know i love you, it doesn't matter, anytime, its all fine.
Dad i haven't seen you in a long time, ca we go fishing? Or rock climbing?
Ca we go to the movies; can we go to the beach? Can we do something?
Your so out of reach, I have missed you and wished for you,
so we could be close,
dad it is the time, i want to boast - the fish i'm going to catch is going to be bigger than yours,
and i will build the biggest sand castle
Just you watch!

Sorry son, I know what i said,
but we just can't,
The car isn't running good, i don't have the time,
it cost too much,i'm really tire,
i have to work tomorrow,
but another time,
i will be glad to,just say the word and we will go to all the places that you say,
lets do it another day.

Oh gee dad, you rule mate, you are the best,
we can go out after your rest,
And we can get the car going, and do something cheaper,
you're the best dad.

Hey young man, its all good, lets go now and do the things we said we would!

Well i'm sorry dad, but it is now too late,
I'm 18, you are too late,
I'm too old to the things we were ganna do,
I'm too old to be friends with you,
it just didn't happen, and I don't feel bad,
As long as you are happy its not too bad,
But we never did go fishing,
or do those things,
Who would know what the time could bring,
I guess we don't know each other like we thought we did,
I'm not who you wanted, as your son, your kid.

Doesn't it hurst to realize now all the things you could have done with your father but it never happened because he was too tire and busy?

I spent all this late afternoon and early evening with my son and daughter... we went to the mall, drove around town... Dustin jumped on my back several times in the parking lot at the mall... Tiffany wanted to go shopping for clothes.... cuz that is kind of a dad and daughter past time we like to do... her being 13 and all....

I was tired. I worked very hard today.

But I remembered... "Not much longer... you won't have them like this much longer..."

Tiff asked me what was wrong later... she said I had tears in my eyes...

I said "I love you..." and she knew what I meant...

I'm glad you are spending quality time with you sons, even if you are a little tire. You have no idea what it means to be there when your son or daughter need you.

M... sometimes I wish I actually knew what it was like for someone to be there for me as a teenager.

My dad moved away. My stepdad was always busy with his medical practice.

I wont make that mistake with my 'urchins.'

Thanks for the kudos !!!!!!

I spent hours on beaches fishing. Sometimes it was enjoyable, I guess.

But he never DID anything with me. He wouldn't kick a ball, or play catch. I was 14 before I learnt how to catch.

Oh, btw, That is a valid use for this icon

Oh my......

Are we talking about a ball?????

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
