let's hear your smiles for today, huh?
mine are several small ones lumped together:
in 2 hours i think i finally have somewhat of a grasp on medical term. concepts. in 1 hour i can finally *almost* locate and label all parts to a cell, innards and outards, and their functions. the parts to mitosis and osmosis, and all the directional planes of an anatomical body.
i closed all my books with, i will admit, a self-satisfied and almost cocky smile to myself. i made anatomy and M.T. my slaves. sorta. heh!
it cancelled out the aggrevation that was last night: people not letting me study, people stretching me way too thin, and my story's last two parts being torn all to hell. at least the person was honest, i guess. i still wasn't expecting it. but today? psht! today makes that yesterday, as it should be.
tell me your smiles!

Okay, I was watching this movie that I made about a year ago and at the end of it my friends and I - for it was with them that I had made the film - created a mockumentary. One of the questions (it was set up like an interview) was "How was the director?" To this question one of my friends had answered "He was okay . . coulda' used a bit more salt." Well, it had been such a loong time since I had watched the interviews that I had completely forgotten it and - as a result - started laughing. I mean, here I was - the person who FILMED the thing, who EDITED the clips - laughing at the same joke I must have seen about ten times! It made me feel like I was back in High School.
So, there ya go: at least ONE Friday smile other than your own.

OK, this happened on the bus on the way to uni this morning. The bus leaves 9.35 AM. I was sitting like 3 quarters to the back, and behind me there were sitting 3 kids, aged around 10 or 11 or so. The front of the bus has a digital clock, which (for once) was on time. And when the clock hit 9.35 the driver closed the bus doors and started driving. And the kids behind me started a discussion of when the bus was supposed to leave. One of them was very enthusiastic about it, claiming that the bus should have left 9.33 like "It leaves every day. It left 9.33 yesterday and the day before that and every day ever!!" with enthusiasm and conviction only a kid can have. After this they went on to invent the most extraordinary reasons for why the bus left 2 minutes late. I was sitting in front of them and just trying not to burst out laughing.
Well, that's my smile for today.

Awesome icon. Skywise was one of my favorites too. Although for some reason everyone of my pals seems to think I'm more like Suntop, I kinda identified with Skywise a bit as well. Although my temper was a lot more like Ember way back when.

since I have been divorced (almost 3 years), I have custody of my kids every other 5 days... which means she has them for 9 days, and I have them for 5.
when I drop them off at their mom's on Sunday evenings or at school on Monday mornings, I leave them with a huge cavern in my stomach... and usually stop a block or two away and cry it out... yeah, this is almost every single time...
today was my day to pick them up from school... and when I went into Tiffany's school to get her (yeah, she socializes about the average amount for a 13 year old girl...) I turned the corner and she said in a high squeeky voice "Hi Daddy !!!!" and she was excited to see me.
I really really smiled.... I smiled with tears in my eyes... like now...

Well, due to the International Date Line and time zones, early Saturday morning smiles...
I just got up to go teach my morning class at the Uni...ugh...but got a smile from this thread. Setras's observations, D'Art's gaming (what IS this elf sport, by the way, be sure to tell me sometime...),Machelli's enthusiasm for the week-end, and Bambam's kid time.
The I got to smile cuz I remembered that it's only one more day before I see my partner Man after the work week seperation, and we get extra time together this week. BIG smile, and WHEEEEEE!;-D ;-D
