We first met nine years ago, seems like a life time.
The first time he spoke to me, he wanted to rip my head off.
As time went by (months and years), he learned to tolerate me, to a certain point we had coffee together.
Lately (this last week-end) a new step was on it's way.
Some call it a 13th Step (dating a newcomer), not for me, not for him, not for us. We just got closer. First of all, we haven't had sex. We just spent the week-end together, talking, cuddling, even kissing (yes, in front of everyone) some warned him ¨I think he wants to do a 13th Step with you, be careful!¨ He replied ¨Yeah, so? And he does it pretty well too!¨ although it wasn't true, we didn't have sex. The thing is, he took a newcomer keytag this week-end, since he relapsed.
Confused? Yeah, you might be, if you don't know what I'm talking about. For those of you who are attending a 12 Step program, might.

The setting: A N.A. Convention
The people: Recovering addicts
The purpose: A celebration of our clean time.
The story: The probable begining of a love story, between myself and Yan.
The update: Just for today...if ever I want to share, you'll know.

The most important is that it's not a 13th Step.

Welcome back! Long time, no see!

One day at a time, for sure...not as a crutch or an avoidence, but as a way to keep on ensuring that there will indeed be another day. Well done for keeping on putting one foot in front of the other, despite the effort it costs.

You got guts, new friend. Show us more abourt yourself...I bet it'll be interesting and helpful to many...and you might get a fifth step out of it, right?Wink
