It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, reheating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.
But then my dad died and then my mom died. I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any 'more.' Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So...while we have it...it's best we love it.....and care for it ....and fix it when it's broken .....and heal it when it's sick.
This is true.....for marriage.....and old cars.....and children with bad report cards.....and dogs with bad hips.....and aging parents.....and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away -- or -- a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.....and so, we keep them close! I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way. Now it's your turn to send this to all those people that are "keepers" in your life...like you!!

We can't all be keepers, you see.
Some of us are jerks, some transient, some pleasant, some unpleasant. And not all of us are your friends, especially when we don't know who you are.
So this is pleasant enough, but not as genuine a sentiment as it might be.

But what about when it is all used up and gone forever? Some things can be taken and once gone can never be returned. Try as you might, some things just can't. The love, caring, repairs and nursing are all wonderful things and are the things that keep us going. However, the thing taken is gone forevermore.
True all these attributes keep us together, keep us going, but they don't fill the gap.
One is the lonliest number.

I put this up here not really for any particular reason other than that I was cleaning out my e-mail and it was nice. I liked it alot. There are so many times that we are thinking about others and they never know it. I just wanted everyone that I know and speak with to know it and even the onese I don't know "we're all important" life is too short. I just thought maybe I could spread a few smiles Maybe it worked maybe it didn't.
I don't come here much anymore but it doesn't mean that I don't think about it as well as it's members!
*hugs to all* Have a great weekend

thanks for the words.
How true that as we get so busy in life, we go too fast to tell someone how important they are... and then later have to repair the relationships....
May we all tell each other how important they are to us, and may we reach out to those who need us.
I love you all !!!!!!!!!1
