I'm not sure whether he comes here or not, and I know that authors always appreciate emails. "Making the cut" is one thing, but having folk say "Gosh, yes, I like that" is very different. So I'm glad you wrote to him.

He's had a lot of interest from blind folk because he, quite reasonably, portrays the blind boy as a boy who is blind, not as a person with any intellectual impairment. Far too often people ask the person next to the blind person "Does he take sugar?" I can't see this kid taking that lying down!

You can see, I think, why this tale caught my heart. As I've said many times, that is truly all a story has to do in order to make it onto the site.

We do have some fine technical writers here, and we have some novices. Some of the writing styles are great, others grate! (I'll never say whihc is which) But if the tale paints the right picture for me, then it makes it.

Hi Michael,
Thanks so much for the note.

Funny thing is that I moved from Tucson a year ago after living there for nearly 20 years.

I confess that I never knew about the forum. Hey! I've been busy here. But I am so stoked to even be mentioned here. And to be posted on this site is beyond where I thought I would ever be.

I mean, there are a lot of really great authors here. Just being called an author is new for me. I think I'm liking it though.;-D

To be posted among the really great is beyond my dreams. I have another story which will be coming this way soon. I just need to get my posterior in gear and collect it properly to be submitted. As the other thread mentions, it may be considered "grate" instead of "great" because it comes with a facial tissue warning. We'll have to see.

Thanks for all the flowers here.
Cheers,
Ricky
