Since when does a "tie" contitute a "win"?  [message #62676 is a reply to message #62672] Tue, 15 June 2010 04:45 Go to previous message

Whilst I didn't watch the game, it was playing in another room of the apartment, and I could sorta follow the action in a half-assed fashion.

My eldest son Alan and Philip, my Business Manager, were both glued to the screen; my son rooting for the U.S.A. Team (he after all is said and done having been born in Laguna Beach, California) whereas Philip, an Irishman (and lamentably born in England, and not the old sod) vocally supported England if for no other reason than his service in The Palace Horse Guards (The Blues and The Royals) and his being a member of Diana's protective detail until he was retired because of injuries sustained during the Falkland conflict.

Was the U.S.A. Team given the win on points, or what?
