I have long considered that we are perfect in our teenage years and that we should not live much past 30, if at all. Compare pictures then and now with beautiful teenagers, and the adults they become. One notable gentleman is Björn Andrésen, whose comparison pictures are below:

How true this is, in varying degrees, for us all. This one is rather extreme. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may!

I agree that physical beauty is a fleeting thing, a couple of years at the most, but your pics of Bjorn are extreme!
However, there are compensations, people tend to mellow as they get older and, while they may not look as good, they can be much nicer people to know - i hope that's true in my case, i was an arrogant little sod, now, not so much - i hope!
