CHILDLINE.
VERSE 1.
I ring you on the Childline, 0800, two double ones;
But I dread the moment when I'm asked what subject - to talk upon.
Then as my childhood courage fails, and the memories do flow,
I hang up just for now I think, but I'll have another go.
CHORUS.
And Childline is the place to go, when we're burdened down with woes;
A ray of light and hope, when there's no place left to go.
When Childline listens to our pain, no judgement will be made,
They take the facts and then they'll act, so our innocence will be saved.
VERSE 2.
I Tell the Childline Counsellor, the problems I have had;
Of all the times I have to hide, from boozy Mum and Dad.
The taxi comes, the fights begin, the neighbours think we're mad.
The drinks are poured, they can't recall, how many they have had.
VERSE 3.
And so I want to sing this song, with feeling,
And I'm aware of the facts I'm - revealing.
But all my childhood dreams are - forgotten.
You'd hardly think I was Mum and Dad's - begotten.
CHORUS.
And Childline is the place to go, when we're burdened down with woes;
A ray of light and hope when there's no place left to go.
When Childline listens to our pain, no judgement will be made,
They take the facts and then they'll act, so our innocence will be saved.
