At a guess, the link should have been to https://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/53858149/1694755690/name/Kool. jpg - that, at any rate, resolves to an actual image.

I have no idea why the link keeps reverting to the "... Ko ol.jpg".  I have corrected it a dozen or more times.

At any rate it now opens the "Save As dialog which allows you the option to use Windows picture viewer (under Windows 7 and higher) to open the file on screen.

All this for a silly bloody pix.  I shouldn't have bothered.

Beats me. I've looked at the source and it seems ok now, though. Probably.

When I first saw it, the file name in the URL was "Kool. jpg", as it should be, but the URL contained "/or/" between the two strings of digits. That is, the URL was the same as the string in the message text, except that it was missing the erroneous space in the file name. Changing the "/or/" to just "/" produced the link I posted - I won't attempt to guess what caused the link to be corrupted. Given the number of layers of software involved in a message editor running in a browser, it sometimes strikes me as more than a little miraculous that it works at all.
