I rather hoped milkboys would survive. Until a couple of days ago it had. Now it appears to have become the victim of the thought police. Or, this could be a effect of a software glitch.
The forum was often a pace of vitriol, but quite good hearted for the most part

Following your link does, in fact, go to an account suspended page.
However, it seems to be there when I put http://www.milkyboys.net/index/ in my browser.
Or is that just a 'back door' ? (Oo-er, missus!)

Their "parent" web-site has also been shut down.
How could anyone ever have been offended by Milkboys?

I liked Milkboys and followed it for years. I thought it was artistry and high culture. It depicted an aspect of homosexuality that the culture-at-large would rather not acknowledge and that is youth and beauty in males.
Straight society's tolerance level prefers to go no further than square jaws, beards and hardhats. No one care about what they do, but not someone who looks as close to home as their 18 year old son. This is a different story.
I've always wondered why there aren't more nubile 18 year olds in films or magazines and I am speculating that anyone who specializes in depicting that age range is approached by authorities saying that they don't care about the legal identification. It isn't going to be enough and that they better look 24 or older we will drag you through court until you are bankrupt. Speculation on my part but where are the films?
I break with convention on these points in that once they got rid of the sodomy laws and weren't jailing homosexuals it was time to get out of the spotlight and keep sexual preference private as it should be for everyone. There was an important time for "Living Loud being Gay and Proud" GBLT wants to be a political block and be accepted by everyone but the society at large doesn't like homosexuals and never will. Look at where blacks are today.. There are times in history when coming out is essential and times where being overlooked is a matter of survival. I am looking at what is on the horizon and I consider it ominous.
Berlin had a dynamic gay culture that was revolutionary and forward thinking. They held the same principles we hold today but in 1933 it all ended abruptly. The country needed scapegoats and homosexuals were included along with the Jews.
I think gays should get married if they want. Go to a church where you are accepted or out on a beach at sunrise with family and friends. Swear an oath to each other, but why involve the State? This is dangerous. Legitimate gay marriage is a Trojan Horse. Most men don't marry anyway, even straight men have to be tricked into it. Sometimes I think it is a lesbian value.
The more conformist and conventional married gays become it will have the effect of making single gay men even more suspect around anyone under the age of 19. It narrows the focus.
There is a reason why gay men are fleeing the teaching profession. Male teachers in public school is down to 15% and our modern civilization is not in a good mood.

From time to time some of the pictures there were possible to interpret as pornographic by those who interpret things as pornographic

I never saw the milkboys site and only found the milkyboys site tonight by accident when I accidentally added a y to search topic on yahoo search. Having taken a look at the latter site, it seems to be at least mildly porno. Of course, what's an ordinary pic to one person may seem like porno to another. So I wonder why one site should be suspended and the other allowed to carry on?

The Milkboys site and board were very much more discussion oriented, or the parts I visited were, whereas milkYboys seems much more picture oriented. Milkboys also acted as some form of web host for other folks, and I wonder how much control it had over them.
In the past I considered offering web space to others on our server. It is the lack of control of content that leads me not to go down this route, however much I like a site and however hard pressed it is.
If you look at our own history, we, too, have been an internet gypsy, at the whim of others who have moved us on. Now we check with a new server provider before we take up lodgings. That still does not make us bombproof. It simply gives us a good chance

"You know the drill: We'll be back as soon as we can; thanks for your patience! <3"
Translated: he hasn't paid his hosting bill, and as soon as he has the cash, the site will be back. This has happened at least twice this year.

Yes it is. Perhaps now would be a good time for me to make a donation to his site, just to help him along a little bit sooner.

milkboys now appears to be back on line.

A site like that probably has huge bandwidth requirements, and thus high bills.

As of the 1st of September it would appear that Milkboys (the parent site) is again open for business, having been shut down since August 16th. No explanation, having taken a cursory look around is given for its' being out of service.

I noticed that it was back up as well. I suspect that Timmy and Smokr are right - the site's problems are probably because of a lot of bandwidth use and not a lot of money to pay for it all.

Your best bet for keeping up with the site and its status is to check the Twitter account: https://mobile.twitter.com/milkboys/tweets
The relevant statuses here are from the 19th of August going forward: "@milkboys how come the site is always getting suspended?"
Some users comment that it's probably because of site content; Josh dismisses that and says it's because he's having trouble paying the server bill, and because people donate using Bitcoin, which is difficult to convert to a simpler payment method.
