Good day!
Dont mind on my illiteracy, Im from Japan. We loaded mine malicious program on your system.Since that moment I thiefted all personal background from your device. Furthermore I obtained some more evidence. The most important evidence that I stole- its a video with your wanking.I installed malware on a porn site and after you downloaded it. The moment you chose the video and clicked on a play, my deleterious soft immediately downloaded on your OS.
After adjusting, your camera shoot the video with you self-abusing, in addition I saved the video you wanked on. In next week my virus found all your social media and work contacts.
If you need to destroy all the compromising evidence- transfer me 490 euro in BTC(cryptocurrency).
I provide you my Btc address - 143CvcrnC7ALX2nHKt5wkDMQUQHKS3srmA
You have 22 h. to go after reading. When I receive transfer I will erase the video evermore. Otherwise I will send the record to all your colleagues and friends.
I love it. This will kickstart my porn career! I shoudl reply and tell them so.

It's rather funny that the most important thing they supposedly got off your computer is a video of you "self-abusing" (so no financial information or login info to any sites or e-mail or anything?).

Timmy, we're disappoined, too. I'm thinking that somebody should contact this guy and say something along the lines of, "Hey, we're some of Timmy's collegues and friends. We were very much looking forward to your sending us the video you have of him abusing himself while watching porn, and are disappointed that we have yet to receive it. We were wondering what the holdup is."

I was thinking more along the lines of "All your Bitcoin belong to us. You have been pwned!"
He's spoofed the from-address, or I htnk he has. The domain is kind of weird, though. But he's a no hope chancer.
I posted it as an example to younger folk not to fall for this crap. I may yet send it to law enforcement for their consideration.

I've gotten a few myself, though it's been of the "Nigerian Scam" variety - someone who claims to either be rich or have been in some important government position in their homeland (or both!) and who wants to emigrate to the U.S. but who needs help getting their money (usually to the tune of several million U.S. dollars) out of their country, and who is offering me a sizable percentage of said money if only I'd be so kind as to give them my bank account number so they can transfer the entire amount in there.

Again, Timmy, I still think it's funny that the only thing of any value that these people are supposed to have gotten off of your computer is: #1: a video of you masturbating to porn, and #2: your on-line contacts list (so again, no sensetive financial info or login info to things like your e-mail, social media accounts, or this site?). Like John noted, on one hand we do have to give them some kudos for at least coming up with a novel idea for trying to blackmail you, but on the other hand it's obvious they have no idea as to just who they're trying to exploit here - nobody who knows you would be at all surprised (or even care) if you masturbate to porn, so you have no reason to be embarrased or afraid if someone sent us a video of you doing so.

One of my hobbies is masturbating while watching good looking legal age gentlemen doing exciting things with each other in porn videos. Xhamster is a pleasant source.
I'm not wholly sure that anyone would actually want to see my todger in flagrante delicious or my cum-face, though!
Even if I were to fall for this crap I would have no idea how to pay the little shits

I've just recieved a very similar e-mail (the second sextortion mail I've ever had). It was sent to an e-mail address I only use for linkedin. The scary thing about it was that it gave - in plain text - the password I used for LinkedIn. I haven't actually used the site for about five years, and it isn't the first spam I've had to that address, but it was enough to give me pause for thought. And just to double-check by doing a full virus scan on all my machines.
There aren't any videos of me jerking off on the net - or anywhere else! And it's no good anyone pretending that they turned on the laptop camera (it's taped over).

I deleted my Linked In account some time ago. They seem to me to have a lousy attitude to privacy. I think they had a data breach a while back, so your password for them being in the wild does not surprise me

Note in the first message, "I provide you my Btc address - 143CvcrnC7ALX2nHKt5wkDMQUQHKS3srmA". That string at the end is the Bitcoin equivalent of a bank account number. To pay the jerks you would need to create a Bitcoin wallet, populate it with Bitcoin equivalent to their requested payment, and send the appropriate Bitcoin amount to that address. Which is more or less equivalent to putting the corresponding cash in an envelope and placing it at a specified "drop" location and provides all the security and traceability of that method of payment. Except that you can be fairly confident that either the intended recipient ends up with your money or it is lost forever; no random passerby can readily hijack your Bitcoin payment.
Unlike a bank account number, though, the Bitcoin address is probably a single-use address that will be abandoned as soon as your Bitcoin payment has been moved to another address, probably by way of an anonymizer that makes it difficult or impossible to trace the Bitcoin between the new address and the old one.
Rather than buying Bitcoin, it would probably be more useful to convert the currency into banknotes, which could be used as tinder the next time you need to start a campfire.

That is a huge rigmarole. And all to stop a video of me having a wank going viral! Heck, that is so funny I might post one myself, if I can be bothered.

That's why I say that these bozos (or maybe it should be bozo in the singular, since I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if both demands are from the same individual treying to pose as two different people) don't know you at all, Timmy. Anyone who knows you at all knows that you wouldn't be bothered in the slighted if videos of you masturbating to porn were to be released.
I'd like to say that such things don't succeed, but a part of me is afraid that there just might be some people out there gulible enough to fall for such mesages.

Just like breaking chain letters I am happy for anypne to publish their own sextortion emails here
I let a friend of mine borrow my mobile to take a few photos, he opened the photos app to locate the images to email them to himself, and guess an inquisitive nature led him to click on hidden photos, I had stupidly kept a few pictures of myself masturbating, which he obviously looked at! He held the phone up and said is this you? Thankfully I played it cool and said yes, and jokingly said I hope he enjoyed looking at them, at which point he threw the phone to me. I think I handled the situation quite well...

I take it he never told you how much he had enjoyed them?
He didn't say he enjoyed looking at the three photos of me,
having just taken photos of a metallic matt grey a Lamborghini parked outside my flat,
i know he selected the car photos and emailed them to himself,
but then he must have swiped through the three hidden photos of me,
if he'd been disgusted he'd have stopped looking at them and closed the photo app?
i was rather embarrassed, but my stance was quite robust, as in what's your problem?
He should have respected the photos were in a hidden folder, but he chose to look!
i don't think he'd tell anyone, many people have exchanged intimate photos.
I can post photos of the car, but not of me LOL!
Don't worry, I won't post anything that contravenes forum rules.
In my opinion the sports car was a rather dull grey,
similar colour to the swimming trunks on this lad...

This one is better, if one can use that term. It contains a reference to an old password, no longer used anywhere interesting. And also speaks of a "pixel" that sends a ping home if I read the email. They exist, of course.

It seems that, [throw away password], is your password. You may not know me and you are probably wondering why you are getting this e-mail, right?
Actually, I setup a malware on the adult vids (porno) web-site and guess what, you visited this site to have fun (you know what I mean). While you were watching videos, your internet browser started out functioning as a RDP (Remote Desktop) having a keylogger which gave me accessibility to your screen and web cam. After that, my software program obtained all of your contacts from your Messenger, FB, as well as email.
What did I do?
I backuped phone. All the photo, video and contacts.
I created a double-screen video, 1st part shows the video you were watching (you've got a good taste haha ...), and 2nd part shows the recording of your web cam.
Exactly what should you do?
Well, in my opinion, $800 is a fair price for our little secret. You'll make the payment by Bitcoin (if you do not know this, search "how to buy bitcoin" in Google).
BTC Address: 1DAPfbXMTXRWiHh4W2CD49J7UdEBDsWLXa
(It is cAsE sensitive, so you should copy and paste it)
Important:
You have one day in order to make a payment. (I've a unique pixel in this e-mail, and at this moment I know that you have read through this email message). If I do not get the BitCoins, I will certainly send out your video recording to all of your contacts including relatives, coworkers, and so on. Having said that, if I receive the payment - I'll destroy the video immediately. If you need evidence, reply with "Yes!" and I'll send out your video recording to your 6 contacts. It is a non-negotiable offer, that being said don't waste my personal time and yours by responding to this message.
I have been known to look at porn and have a decent wank while watching it. I suppose folk might be amused to see me having a wank, but I don't care one way or the other.
I can't quite work out the logic of this part:

So, if I reply "Yes!", he sends it to six random people. But he doesn't want a reply anyway
You may gather that I am not about to send this person any money. It did make me think, though, because it quoted the throwaway and now obsolete password to me. This shows the importance of logging in 'wisely'. And also of protecting your equipment with intrusion detectprs, of which I have an excelelnt portfolio.

They are still at it. (Or maybe I was right when I said that all these different e-mails may all be coming from the same guy who's trying different attempts to scam you but can't come up with anything more creative than "I've hijacked your computer and made a secret video of you jacking off to porn.")
As I've also noted, these e-mails are from people (or are from one really determined yet uncreative person) who obviously doesn't know you at all, or us either (and by "us" I mean anyone who's contact info you've got stored on your computer hard drive), because neither you nor us would be bothered in the slightest if there was a video out there of you masturbating.
While the following hasn't happened to me, there is a video on YouTube of a guy in the U.S. who received a phone call from a scammer claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service (which is a part of the U.S. Department of the Treasury that is tasked with collecting federal taxes and administering the Internal Revenue Code, the main body of the federal statutory tax law of the U.S.), claiming that he owed a lot of income tax and would face significant prison time if it wasn't paid immediately through, of all things, gift cards to Target (a U.S. retail chain). This guy proceeds to totally prank the scammer for quite a while (it should be noted that it's easy to identify scammers who claim to be from the IRS; I had a friend who had recceived such a phone call himself - it came while he was at work, so he never talked to the scammer directly - but when he checked with the actual IRS - their legitimate phone number can be found in the government section of the phone book - he was told that the IRS never "cold calls" someone who owes back taxes; they always start by sending notifications through the U.S. Postal Service because it helps create a paper trail that the IRS can use to prove cases in a court of law if things ever go that far). I thought the video is pretty funny, myself:

We all know this shit comes from lists of passwords that have been harvested long ago from hacked sites, but they do come now in amusing volume. This one allows me 48 hours:
"Quote:"
Hello!
I'm a programmer who cracked your email account and device about half year ago.
You entered a password on one of the insecure site you visited, and I catched it.
Your password from its_onlyme@iomfats.org on moment of crack: [redacted]
Of course you can change your password, or already made it.
But it doesn't matter, my rat software update it every time.
Please don't try to contact me or find me, it is impossible, since I sent you an email from your email account.
Through your e-mail, I uploaded malicious code to your Operation System.
I saved all of your contacts with friends, colleagues, relatives and a complete history of visits to the Internet resources.
Also I installed a rat software on your device and long tome spying for you.
You are not my only victim, I usually lock devices and ask for a ransom.
But I was struck by the sites of intimate content that you very often visit.
I am in shock of your reach fantasies! Wow! I've never seen anything like this!
I did not even know that SUCH content could be so exciting!
So, when you had fun on intime sites (you know what I mean!)
I made screenshot with using my program from your camera of yours device.
After that, I jointed them to the content of the currently viewed site.
Will be funny when I send these photos to your contacts! And if your relatives see it?
BUT I'm sure you don't want it. I definitely would not want to ...
I will not do this if you pay me a little amount.
I think $635 is a nice price for it!
I accept only Bitcoins.
My BTC wallet: 1Q7e6U29yaeKtDVZGpRr33z2B7qpA1Rpbh
If you have difficulty with this - Ask Google "how to make a payment on a bitcoin wallet". It's easy.
After receiving the above amount, all your data will be immediately removed automatically.
My virus will also will destroy itself from your operating system.
My Trojan have auto alert, after this email is looked, I will be know it!
You have 2 days (48 hours) for make a payment.
If this does not happen - all your contacts will get crazy shots with your dirty life!
And so that you do not obstruct me, your device will be locked (also after 48 hours)
Do not take this frivolously! This is the last warning!
Various security services or antiviruses won't help you for sure (I have already collected all your data).
Here are the recommendations of a professional:
Antiviruses do not help against modern malicious code. Just do not enter your passwords on unsafe sites!
I hope you will be prudent.
Bye.
Please feel free to post any that you receive here on the forum. Do redact any old passwords lest they give clues to any current passwords
Viewing the raw source of the email, though it has spoofed mine as the 'from' and 'reply to' addresses, we see this:

Now I've gotten one as well, posted below. The only "edit" to it was that the original makes mention of a somewhat older e-mail account of mine that I use nowadays primarily for personal e-mails with my family and that, for various reasons, I'd prefer to keep private. (The one difference is that, unlike the ones Timmy's been receiving, this person is apparently willing to give me an extra day beyond the original 24 hour time frame if needed to come up with the money; otherwise everyone will be getting a video of my "onanism.")

We have a fraud reporting site from the UK police, Actionfraud, and I report them there as a matter of process. Mine are now for $2,000, a goodly sum, and still sextortion fraud. We cannor stop them, but we do not even consider paying them.
