Yesterday, on our way back home from work Kevy and I decided to stop off and check out whats new at the Salvation Army Store (one of our favorits places for procuring kewel and CHEAP stuff). Well we walk in and peruse the houseware department and having found not a thing of use or value we meandered to the Furniture area. Right away I spotted a pile of oak table tops and leaves (both sets were only $50.00) and Kevy began thumbing through them to check their condition. They were in wonderful condition but both were without their pedistals. I said we couldnt really use just table tops so we headed home.
Once outside the store though I thought of calling a store in the next town that specializes in oak furniture and asked if they could possibly replace them.
THEY SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!
All we had to do was bring in a leave so we could match the finish. YYYYYYYAAAAAAYYYYYY
WE throw our coats back on and dash off back to the sotre to get our prise. Alas as we rounded the corner a miscreant shopper was standing there actually touching our treasure. Carressing them with all the expertise of an experienced Salvation Armier.
Right away we spring into action. I headed to the cashier and promptly had her ring up my sale as Kevy ran out to bring the van to the loading area.
Just as I was signing the slip the man arrived and inquired about the two tables.
Kevy was so happy..... He has transformed into......... (ominous music) "Decorating Man"
Now we have a nice table to match our buffet and hutch (another great find) for only $25.00 plus the cost of a pedistal and we hope to recoup the cost for all that by selling the second table.
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
