Gilbert Baker created the first rainbow flag in San Francisco as a symbol of community pride in response to anti-gay activities.
He's made a new one that is 1 1/4 miles long and 16 feet wide. It will be displayed down the entire length of Duval Street in Key West. One end of the flag will be placed in the Atlantic Ocean, the other in the Gulf of Mexico.
After it's displayed Sunday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the original flag, it will be cut into more than 100 sections to be given to Pride organizations in cities worldwide including Atlanta, Berlin, Boston, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Manilla, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto.
