So yeah a girl I knew from church graduated this year and was all ready to go to west point. She passed all the fitness requirments with flying colors. Unfortunitly it seems when she was younger she broke her ankle, it healed and they thought she was good now. Well I guess from the rigors of the first 5 weeks of training it got to the point where an injury she described to her parents as a sprain prevented her from continuing.
It got bad enough that the officers were telling her she couldn't go on the marches/ running excersizes and required her to stay behind. Well at the moment she is waiting for the army to officially dishcharge her. It's sad I think she had so much potential and tried so hard to not let her family down. Now her family is just sad she is coming home again in one piece but I guess it's dissapointing for them. When her parents spoke to Sarah on the phone, all her officers explained that she simply excelled at everything and that ifit wasn't for her ankle she would have been a great cadet.
Right now while they are waiting for the discharge to go through it's hard becuase Sarah is not sure what she will do for the next year. She had had a full scholorship to the University of Michigan for ROTC. However since she had turned that down and it is now to late to get her into school noone is quite sure what will happen. I guess I will be seeing her again sooner then I thought.
I had no real intent in mind when I wrote this I guess just shariing what a friend has been up to. She is such a nice girl I hope everything works out.
Peace and Trees
