Why is it more easily acceptable to be lesbian than gay? At my high school this past week, two very popular girls let it out to a few close friends that they loved each other and they couldn't stand not saying it any longer. The reaction went from shock to embarrassment to varied degrees of 'whatever' but no one will want to bash them or hurt them for it.

Why is it almost "cute" for two girls but if I said I was gay, I'd get the shit beat out of me??? It's the macho mentality??? I mean, girls can and do walk around all the time holding hands, hugging and kissing,lesbian or not.

My best girlfriend says that she can always tell when a guy is gay by the way he looks and talks and that there's just something "different" about him. Do girls have good 'gaydar'?
