Really getting into it

this group does mean so much to me, and has helped before.

I got a phone call last night from an old friend here in town (unfortunately nowadays we only exchange Christmas cards and bad news) saying another mutual old friend had been trying to get in touch with me all weekend. When I heard that I knew it was not a Christmas card.

Turns out my best friend from the military (and within the circle of old friends) had passed last Thursday and the funeral was yesterday. I know that if I had gotten word in time I would have dropped everything to fly to his place of residence. But now I am left with writing letters to his wife, and two children (whom I babysat at least once a week for over three years straight) to express my condolences and best wishes.

Like I said, I don't know why I am posting this. All I really have to say is:
Life is short! Don't waste time with hate or ridicule! Love each and every person you meet, hug your family, say I love you to someone (or even two or three) each day. For life is short.

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
