Hiya,
To all the authors that submitted stories for the summer contest, congratulations, they were awesome. A lot of them really got to me. Unfortunately, I didn't get mine finished in time for the contest deadline (it's still not finished, come to think about it), but I have enjoyed all of the stories.
Now for the next contest, I propose something a little more difficult. Something sinister in intent and somewhat terrifying at the same time. Kinda parochial as well, but, oh well, can't have it all.
In short, let's gather together a list of seemingly unconnected words, about twenty or thirty of them, and make it so that all the words on the list must somehow be woven into the story. The words can be underlined in the manuscript to point them out and used in any order the author wants. Story subject and content is open as long as it still fits into the site's basic premise. Say, short story length.
Okay, it's just a proposal, so let's see what everyone else thinks. Maybe good idea, maybe bad idea. What are your opinions.
Okay, enough time on the soapbox. Next!
