Me and my friend Setras had a brief conversation after having spent some time playing Diablo 2 together. This happened just before I got home, which was just before he messaged me to ask in case I wanted to play some. I literally had only gotten off my shoes when the notify ding came in.
So, here's the relevant section.
Setras says:
you bakc yet?
Lenny says:
Yup!
Lenny says:
LOL, I almost got beat up today by a drunk!
Setras says:
not very lol, I think
Setras says:
what happened?
Lenny says:
Nah, not really lol, no. It was kinda creepy. I was on the bus... This guy comes on, sort of an older man. Beard stubble, some furrows on his face.
Lenny says:
He starts talking to himself, then starts talking to a young girl sitting on the row behind me.
Lenny says:
She's very pretty but VERY young, like 12 or something.
Lenny says:
She doesn't answer back at first but he keeps talking to her.
Lenny says:
First just about stuff, he complains about christmas, then asks what she thinks. She likes christmas, well DUH, she's a kid.
Setras says:
Lenny says:
Then he asks for her name. She hesitates - obviously - but then answers, so he asks for her middle name.
Lenny says:
He says he thinks her name is pretty, then, before he has a chance to ask for her last name or worse, where she lives, I start to stare at him.
Setras says:
Lenny to the rescue!
Lenny says:
He notices before too long and starts to argue with me, calls ME a pedophile and wants to fight.
Lenny says:
Well, I am carrying a backpack with 18 kilos of iron in it, but there is a dumbbell bar that kinda looks like a Diablo2 scepter in it that I could have used on him to cause some serious damage had he really wanted to mess with me.
Lenny says:
Except, he didn't. He just screamed obscenities at me when I got off the bus, called me a cocksucker (which is rather ironic though he couldn't know, lol)...
Lenny says:
He stayed on, and that was the last I saw of him.
Setras says:
Sounds like he was a real son of a bitch
Lenny says:
A creepy drunk who approaches little girls. Yuck.
Lenny says:
I kinda wish he'd started a fight so I could have beat the shit out of him with my scepter.
Lenny says:
Except, my clothes would have become bloody and that would have been yukky.
Setras says:
yup... but end's well, all's well
Lenny says:
Yeah, the girl got off the stop before I did, so he didn't have a chance to pressure her for any more info.
Lenny says:
Besides, the buses are full of cameras too, but I didn't want him to keep talking to her.
Lenny says:
What a creepy, slimy guy...!
Setras says:
yeah, sounds like it
Add to this, I haven't been in a real fight since like fifth grade when I was a new kid in school and some bullies wanted to push me around. I don't like to fight, and I'm not really a particulary brave person. I sometimes have too big a mouth for my own good.
However, this time I kinda guess it was worth it. It didn't feel right having that guy talking in that way to a girl like that, considering his age (though he probably looked older than he really was due to the life he's living), and hers too of course, and that she was so pretty with long blonde hair & stuff.
I don't know if he seeked her out, sat down across the aisle just to speak to her, but I can't help thinking he did. Especially due to the way he reacted when I got involved.
He knew what he was doing, I'm pretty sure of that. He wouldn't have started talking like that with a woman, or even someone in her upper teens. He counted on her feeling intimidated and pressured into starting to talk back, so he could pry her defenses open more and more. Yuck! *shivers*
