I just got to see LotR3 last night and My God! The friendship, the love between Merry&Pippin and Frodo&Sam was beautiful. If you can sit through their scenes without sniffling, you're better than I am.

Frodo's quest was to destroy the ring but Sam's was to protect Frodo. The look in their eyes was unbelieveable when Sam walked in the room after they were rescued. In the book, Sam doesn't get married...I have to assume that he did in the film to temper the strength of the obvious.

When Pippin found Merry, hurt from the battle, the devotion was absolute. "You found me!" "I will take care of you." Whoaaa !!

I know I see things from a slightly offkilter slant and I was supposed to love the battle scenes and the power of the magic and sword and I did, but I just really want to be a hobbit (hairy little feet and all) if I could see that look in someone's eyes. They touch and laugh and hug and kiss and no one says "bad hobbits".

If you haven't seen it yet.....go! and Dang! watch the eyes Smile
