... as once having stated in a letter to his brother:
"Many a man has a bonfire in his heart and nobody comes to warm himself at it. The passers-by notice only a little smoke coming from the chimney and go away."
As this the Christian "Festive Season" begins, in this the year of our Lord 2003, let us all warm ourselves at the bonfires of those around us, and be comforted by that nearness. Let this communal warmth be the fuel that fosters a collective goodwill amongst all.
