Several years ago now I bought four very bright orangish-yellow LEDs and some other stuff; some cable, an electrical cable mounting strip and a resistor. With those things, I brought down the +12V a computer disk drive connector provides to the 2V needed by the LED when all four of them were connected in series (it's a fairly neat job I have to say myself - heh heh, but I didn't take a pic of it. My intention with this contraption was to illuminate the front of the transparent plastic case I used at the time, I just never got around to it right then, so the LEDs languished forgotten for a long time.

I thought many times that the front of my current Dell was perfect to use these LEDs with, I'm sure most of you know what current cases look like with that smiley mouth they got on the front bezel. Also, behind the bezel is a metal grille with round holes in it, perfect for fastening this thing using a cable-tie. So, today I finally got 'round to it. I now have a devilishly grinning Dell computer case! I need to adjust the LEDs so they shine a bit straighter out through the mouth, but it still looks pretty spiffy in my opinion! Surprised
