I have an idea how we might make it fly better. But it involves restraint. The laws of Libel say "One cannot libel the dead", at least inthe UK. So it is safest to go with deceased gay people.
Even so, why don't we make it similar to the movie threads we run sometimes?
By this I mean "Get JFR to start us off this week". The perosn who gets it right then starts a new thread. I do mean a new thread, not a new reply. And puts sufficient informatiion for us to try to identify their choice.
Do not risk suggesting that one should be Tom Cruise, for example. He is both alive and has often defended claims that he may be allegedlty gay in the courts. Logic does say that one might well put Sir Elton John there, though. He may still be living (OK, he IS living) but he definitely declares himself to be gay, so he is a safe bet.
What we're hoping to do is to show just how many well known figures abnd potential role models there are who are gay.
So, just WATCH the living ones. I have the right but not the duty to remove those I see as borderline libellous if they are alive, but you are on your own defending a libel case . And "Over to JFR".
