Hi guys! I don't know if you still remember me... (well, probably not since I haven't been here in a long time... but Timmy says everyone's welcome...  ) Well, I just saw this really nice movie and I thought I'd share it with you guys.
The title of the movie is "Ethan Mao"...
It's about this 18 year old Chinese boy named Ethan who's been living in America for quite some time and at the beginning... he's just kind of starting to explore his sexuality online.
Unfortunately, his Dad later found out he's gay and got booted out of his house. He then begins to live life on the streets as a hustler selling sex to older men... until he meets Remigio- a fellow hustler and drug dealer who takes him in. A strong bond of friendship forms between the two boys within a few months.
One day, Ethan asks Remigio a favor- which is to go back to his house to get some stuff (some money and his deceased mom's necklace) which is only what Ethan has of her. It goes well at first after he was tipped off by his younger brother that his family was going away on a trip for Thanksgiving... until something happens and they are caught- which eventually lead to Ethan having his family hostage.
A lot of things happen during the course of one night- which eventually elevates from somthing simple- to complicated. What I liked most about the movie is its bittersweet ending which sort of left me a kind of... mixed feeling. It was sad... but redeeming at the same time.
