From today, in the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland, we have full equal rights for same gender partners under the terms of the new Civil Union. This is 38 years almost to the day since two adult mean were allowed at last in private to have sexual relations.
We have come a long way, I suppose, in a short time. We are still intolerant in patches, but we accept male and female homosexual people in positions of power, as entertainers, as schoolteachers, as clergy (with imbecilic pseudo restrictions), in the armed forces, in short in all parts of the British way of life.
Now "all" we have to do is to use our "Special Relationship" and show the USA that homosexuality is not a threat.
