http://www.itp.net/news/details.php?id=22318 is an article about Saudi Arabia and new laws "to address the rise in electronic crime".

I was ok with that until I read the article in detail: "Creating web sites that defame humanity, advocate drug use or that contain pornographic material can lead to sentences of up to five years in prison and/or a fine of US$1.3million." Ok so far. Then: "The same punishment will also apply to anyone found guilty of creating web sites or programs that violate any of the Kingdom’s general laws, Islamic values or public ethics."

Ok, so $1.3m for those whose ethics are viewed as unsound by this nation that pillories gay men and women. Hmmmmmm.
