I have no objection at all to BDSM nor to people who enjoy it. I've tried a little myself and it was not to my taste. That's fine, because I don't have to like oysters to appreciate that other people do.

But I have just been invited to join a yahoo group for "Mentoring", a topic I thought was congruent with my beliefs, only to find that this mentoring group is a thin disguise for "Daddies and sons", and masters and slaves. And that spanking is considered to be both non violent and also to be mentoring.

Apparently I am the only one marching to the drummer that says that mentoring is a non contact "sport". It does rather make me wonder why I've been invited to join it.

It does say "Beware of invitations to groups", I fear.
