Really getting into it

Why is it when life is going ok or close to being ok, it goes right back to be a living hell? And worse then it was before, so why should I keep going on, yes it will get better but only to get worse. A never ending cycle of ups and downs, so why should I keep going on? What is the pay off in the end? When will I be getting to the light at the end of the tunnel? So once again I ask Y?
