Has no life at all

There is good news. I'm still doing an 80 mile round trip to my mother's bedside, but, after this week, that will drop to once every 3 days or so. I am getting my life back as she is getting her life back

She's been moved to the Cottage Hospital. This is a halfway house for heading home. Intensive physiotherapy will get her able to live independently again (0.9 probability).

What does this mean for the site?

Well, those of you who thought I would give it up are wrong. Something had to give, and I knew that the site would live by itself, though authors and readers would be upset some by the gaps in publishing. The great thing is that you all understand about human needs and frailties, and you know this is a hobby, not a business. Not a single person has been impatient. I want to hug you all.

Can I give a schedule for posts to restart? The answer is no. I can tell you that I am exhausted emotionally and physically, and will start as soon as I can. I will try, but refuse to promise, to make a small start this week.

Then I have a mini-vacation planned in Brixham, in Devon. I'm going on 4th August. For burglars to know, the house is not empty! I come back around the 10th. With luck the sea air will recharge my batteries and we will be back to a pair of chapter a day.

I know you know this has been an awful time. I don't always get on well with my mother, and she is in hospital in the area where I fell in love and where I feared lunatic asylums. The memories have been very hard to cope with.

They've spurred me into writing an article, for submission to my old school alumni magazine, about the 1960s. I'm also planning a book, this time for publication, about my experiences at school as a way of continuing to break free. At the right time I'll let everyone know. When the article's published I will be out, pretty much fully and formally. If the book gets published I will be so out that people may even cross the street to meet me. Currently, of course, they avoid me!

All of this is letting me get the mental energy to update the site.

I know that it is a small task to publish stories. "All" they need is a little editing and topping and tailing. Only it is that "all" that defeated me for the past long weeks.
