... a room in a shared flat in London (or any other large city)?

I've just started a job in White City (West London) and the daily 3 to 4-hour commute is taking its toll. I've asked a couple of people and they've made some useful suggestions (the internal company magazine, old school friends) but I was wondering if there's anything I should bear in mind, aside from the obvious (avoid sociopaths, remain within budget, etc.). I've never shared a flat before, except university accommodation.

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
