in the south... Georgia to be exact. Things are so much different here. Just looking for a place to stay, looking for some old friends and try to make the best of it.

Not to use names... the person i'm talking about will be named John

On another note...today i learned the people i live with (older gay couple, together for 25 years); one them is about to be fired from his job because he is gay. John is assistant manager at a large company and his boss found out he was gay. His boss doesn't like gay people and was already making arrangements to get him fired by sending e-mails to the corporate offices saying he was not doing a good job. As a result, john was going to be put on a 60 day trial period to check see if he could improve his working skills, otherwise, he was going to be let go.

Good thing John found out in time. The human resources lady, also getting fired because her job is being cut, told him his days in the company were over. She told him to watch out because the boss found out he was gay and wanted him out - to better start looking for another job. To confirm this, John checked his boss's e-mail and everything was true. John confronted his boss and the boss completely denied everything. What his boss didn't know is that John had already read the e-mails. John managed to read the e-mails because his boss left the computer logged on while on vacation. Now that John turned in his resignation, the company is going to investigate further and who knows what might happen. So far, John has his job, but for how long?

In most states of the United States, homosexuals are not protected under the law at the state or city level. What John's boss is doing is completely legal and it will be a tough battle to win in court if the company doesn't have a policy regarding sexual orientation.

Makes me sad to hear this stuff actually happens.

You don't love someone because they are beautiful, they are beautiful because you love them.
