Last night on the news here there was an item about yet another service for gays offered by the Tel Aviv municipality. Apparently, quietly and behind the scenes, it has been functioning now for three or four years. It is a meeting place for men over the age of sixty who have been married and now have decided to come out the closet. Those interviewed said that they had been happily married but that now they did not want to be burdened any more with the weight of keeping their orientation hidden. It was a most moving news item. Does anything like this exist elsewhere?

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)
