I'm a bit torn on this one.

*either* it's the delusional ramblings of a senile idiot, yearning for simple days of "purity" he knew in the Hitler Youth,

*or* it's a plot by the Vatican hierarchy to promote their church to those fundamentalist Americans (and others) who feel spiritually homeless now that a number of US Evangelical Churches have dropped their ranting about abortion, homosexuality and stuff in favour of "there are bigger problems facing us all".

Is it possible that it's both of the above?

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
