I have finished the first draft of my book, and I am 2/3rds of the way through the first edit phase, with a very kind offer I've accepted also for proofreading (totally separate from edits).
The next hurdle is the second edit to get it into a more compact form, and then choosing a set of publishers to write to to be rejected by!
My wife has read it and declares it to be very readable, although rather sad.
I even have a working title that I am chewing over with myself to see if it works.
