Dr. Marty Klein, a licensed therapist specialising in sexual disorders for over 30 years has this answer: "Americans are wholly uncomfortable with the very notion of sex and respond to it with vigorous and draconian measures. This an attempt to regulate, legislate, and especially intimidate, by the minority over the majority."

Frankly, we think such laws are silly. They do young people more harm than good. How can you possibly ask questions on a gay forum without coming out to your parents if you need consent?
